  1. Hi book club members. I'm making this first post to check out the process. To make a comment, click on "comments" and that will open the comment window. In the drop down menu for "Comment as" choose "Name/URL" and enter your name. Because this blog is open for anyone, we will be moderating the comments before they are visible to you. Please don't be concerned if your comment does not show up immediately. It will, as soon as we approve it. Have fun with this. I can't wait to hear what you have to say about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!

  2. I've read about 90 pgs. It was slow going getting into the book. I think I'm starting to get the picture. I'll see how the next 90 pgs. go. -Suzanne

  3. I thought it was a slow start but now that I can keep the names straight and am about 120 pages in, I am having a more difficult time putting it down.

  4. I agree with Suzanne. It seems to have taken quite a while to set this up. It is well written, but it hasn't grabbed me yet.
    Hopefully soon...

  8. I attended the book signing for "Our War: Stories from Poweshiek County's Greatest Generation" a couple of weeks ago. I'm not quite halfway through it, but I like it.
Also, my niece suggested reading "The Physick of Deliverance Dane". It looks very good as well.
Just might be on my list after Sherlock!

  9. I agree with the others. It is slow to get going and I find myself getting a little lost in the family history. I'm still working on it. Hope I can finish before the next meeting!

  10. My comments don't show up on the blog. Why? We have a suggestion for a book. Maybe the books could be shorter so we can still be doing other reading. Suzanne

  11. This Thursday, November 5, is the next book club meeting. We will begin at 7pm at the Pioneer Bookshop. "A Study in Scarlet" is our next book. Copies are in stock. This should be a quick read. Perhaps the first book we chose was a bit ambitious. We will need to choose the book to read in December so come with your ideas. Thanks everyone.
